Welcome to the Moke!
One of the most diversified and beautiful areas in the Sierra Nevadas. Three campsites, dispersed camping and a day use area. “Little Half Dome” has become a favorite of rock climbers. The seemingly endless trails are enjoyed by hikers and mountain bikers alike. Salt Springs Lake, created when the PG&E dam was built and opened in 1931, has become a favorite of fishermen, swimmers and kayakers. Not only does the PG&E Dam provide a consistent source of water for the area, its construction still leaves even the best of today’s engineers wondering how it was built in the 1920s.
